| Address: 4439 Main Street U.S. Hotel Bar and Grill (Philadelphia) PA, 19127 Description: On July 2, 1903, a building permit was issued to the United States Hotel in Manayunk, Philadelphia, authorizing the construction of a one-story addition designated as the "hotel bar." In 1914, the United States Hotel was demolished to make way for the Empress Theater as movies became the rage. Today, the films and the hotel are history. Only this beautiful old saloon remains, with its original tin ceiling, tile floor and walls, and its exceptional solid cherry bar. It is today what it was in 1903 - the United States Hotel Bar Restaurant. Food and drink, the sound of music, conversation and laughter, enliven every era.
